News item on THIRUMALAI THIRUDAN in The Hindu 19th March 2005.

Noted Tamil playwright and novelist, V. Dhivakar, who is also the secretary of Visakhai Tamil Kalai Mandram, has come out in flying colours with yet another novel, historical of sorts, as usual.
His latest, `Tirumalai Thirudan', was released recently by the chief executive officer of Visakha Container Terminal Private Limited, D. Suganth Raj, at a function organised by `Friends of Dhivakar' at the Public Library Hall. The in-charge director of the Gitam Institute of Foreign Trade, Ranganathan, received the first copy.
The regional manager of THE HINDU, T.A. Venkateswaran, reviewing the contents, complimented Dhivakar for the adroit way he introduced two characters, Avanthika and Kaatyayani, for brining home picturesquely the origin of clash between the Saivite and Vaishnavite groups regarding the nature of attributes of the Lord of Seven Hills and their repercussions about nine centuries ago.
"Scripted in reader-friendly diction and replete with an element of dramatic effect, coupled with elaborate footnotes regarding the source of information, the book opens a new vista for further research on the subject," said Mr. Venkateswaran.
The mandram's chief patron, T.S. Rajesewaran, its president, R. Sampath, hoped that this novel, like its predecessor, `Vamsadhara', would evoke good response.
